Recently I purchased Judson Carroll's e-book.

I learned about two herbs that are very good lung herbs: codonopsis and astragalus. I have a family member who has been struggling with low oxygen for quite some time now. Every time he catches a cold, he winds up in the hospital with pneumonia and dangerously low oxygen. On a normal day his oxygen runs in the very low 80s. I purchased codonopsis and astragalus after researching on WebMD to make sure there would be no adverse drug interactions with the drugs this family member has been prescribed by his regular physicians.

After a week on codonopsis and astragalus, my family member is reporting higher oxygen levels. I'm trying to keep myself from being overly optimistic, but this makes me happy thus far. I'll try to update everyone as time goes on.

Thanks Judson. You really are a master herbalist.

Hello Elanor!

Thank you for sharing that!

For me, it is really great to hear when the medicinal plants are working for people.   Astragalus is a wonderful herb.  Many people experience huge benefits from taking astragalus for all kinds of conditions.

This site has seeds for Codonopsis

and Astragalus in case you want to grow them yourself:

I think it's fun, when I find a medicinal plant that I want to take regularly, to grow it myself.   It deepens my relationship, I get to know the plant in so many different ways when I have it in my garden and I get to watch it grow.

Hi, Elanor - and, thank you! May I ask which of his books? He has several out, now.

Herbal Medicine for Preppers Homesteaders and Permaculture Folks is the name of the book I purchased from Judson.

As for the brand I purchased, it is called Dragon Herbs which I found on iHerbs. I should be clear - it contains other herbs in it as well: licorice root, white atractylodes root,  aged tangerine peel, dang gui root, bupleurum, chinese cimicifuga rhizome, fresh ginger rhizome, and red jujube dates.

Update: Oxygen levels are now even higher, and my family member is able to be without the supplemental oxygen for extended periods of time.

This is really working out better than I ever imagined it would.

Three weeks ago my family member's oxygen level in his lungs was in the low 80s, he was wearing supplemental oxygen constantly, and the doctor told him to just get used to it, that he wasn't going to improve and that he would be on oxygen the rest of his life.

Fast forward to today. After 3 weeks on codonopsis and astragalus, the oxygen readings are as high as 98!!! and that is without having supplemental oxygen on for the entire day. He only wears oxygen at night now. (He is not even sure if he would need to.) The readings are so good now.

There is so much to be said for taking your health into your own hands. It definitely takes a ton of research. It takes baby steps to get where you need to be. Buying master herbalist Judson Carroll's ebook is a step in the right direction. (Thanks Judson!)  At the end of the day, what does a doctor care whether or not you are cured? There is no benefit to a doctor if he cures someone.  Have you ever seen a published scoreboard of doctors who have cured different people of different maladies? No. Sometimes you are the best person for the job, as you have skin in the game... literally. I encourage everyone to look into the wonders of herbal medicine. You can grow it yourself, always have a supply when you need it, and you won't have to pay $250 - $1000 for the doctor appointment to get it.

If you don't have the skills or the know-how, get to know a master herbalist today... one who can guide you and get you started on your journey to better health.
