Im going to brag a bit. Sorry but it feels good to make sick people better.
Over 30 years of doing Mechanical Design/engineering for 2 Medical devices companies, Ive received several patents.
Even though Its nearly 2 years since I left General Electric Healthcare, They still honored their standing policy of paying $3000 for a patent.
This patent is for head holder used during brain scans. Its allows the clinician to get the exact angle needed to get the best image of the brain without the patient (who may be sedated or unconscious) from having to remain in a award position (and patients like small kids) never stay still)
Aside from doing the design work on all manner of diagnostic imaging machines themselves, we also designed our own Scan room accessories.

Just 2 months ago, my own young grandson underwent a 7 hour surgery on his brain stem after a scan detected an anomaly.
I retired early from a life of designing/inventing medical devices to start my own company (bowhunting products and consulting for other bowhunting related companies) and to become a homesteader/farmer. It was the right choice.
